Do skip hire companies recycle the waste?

When it comes to hiring a skip, you may wonder what happens to the waste after it has been collected. In simple terms, yes, majority of skip hire companies do aim to recycle most of the waste that has been collected.

Skip hire companies recycle as much rubbish as they can to save the environment, aiming to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill. Once the skip hire company collect the waste, they then send this to a sorting centre where it’s determined whether or not the materials and items can be reused or recycled.

Once it gets to the sorting centre, the waste then gets sorted by humans and machinery which separate any materials such as metal, wood, plastics etc. These materials are then forwarded on to other centres where the items can either be reused or recycled into new products. E.g. you may find that materials such as paper and garden waste are often recycled into toilet paper.

When it comes to recycling, everyone should do their part in saving the environment we live in. This helps to reduce the amount which gets send to landfills which can ultimately be used for other resources. Most skip hire companies have strict regulations and policies when it comes to recycling. When booking a skip, always ensure that you use a company who follows these steps to reduce the amount of waste being dumped. Skip hire companies will often advise you on what you can and can’t put in the skip, so, always confirm this beforehand.
